2. What Data We Collect & Why
We minimize data collection. We do not require user accounts, and we do not have a public comments section. The data we process is limited to the following categories:
| Data Category | How We Collect It | Purpose of Processing | Legal Basis (GDPR) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Usage & Analytics Data (Anonymized IP address, pages viewed, browser type, approximate location) | Cookies and scripts from Google Analytics | To measure website traffic and understand how visitors use our site, allowing us to improve our content and user experience. | Consent. This data is only collected if you accept analytics cookies via our cookie banner. |
| Advertising Data (cookies or device identifiers, pages viewed, approximate location) | Cookies and scripts from Google AdSense | To show ads, limit how often you see the same ad, measure ads and prevent ad fraud. | Consent where the law requires it (for example in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland). See section 8. |
| Security Data (IP address, device signals, request headers) | Services like Cloudflare and server logs | To protect our website from malicious attacks (e.g., bots, DDoS), ensure its stability, and diagnose technical issues. | Legitimate Interest. This processing is strictly necessary for the secure and functional operation of our website. |
3. Cookies & Your Choices
Your primary tool for controlling cookies on this site is our consent banner. Where the law requires consent (for example in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland), no non-essential cookies are placed on your device without your explicit permission.
| Cookie Group | Service | How to Opt-Out |

| Analytics | Google Analytics | Decline cookies in our cookie banner. You can change your settings at any time using the “Manage Consent” link, typically found in the footer of our site. |
| Advertising | Google AdSense | Decline advertising cookies in our cookie banner, or turn off personalized ads in Google’s Ads Settings (see section 8). |
| Essential / Security | Cloudflare, WordPress | These cookies are necessary for site functionality and security. Blocking them in your browser may cause parts of the site to fail. |
4. Data Sharing and Transfers
We do not sell personal data. We share data with the following service providers (processors) to operate our website:
| Recipient | Role | Location & Data Safeguards |
|---|---|---|

5. Your Data Protection Rights
We apply GDPR standards to all users. You have the right to access, rectify, or erase your personal data, restrict its processing, or request data portability. To exercise these rights, please contact us via our contact form. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
Specific Information for US Residents (CCPA/CPRA)
Under laws like the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), the use of online analytics and advertising services may be considered “Sharing” of personal information.
Right to Opt-Out of Sharing: You have the right to opt out of this activity. You can exercise this right directly by rejecting analytics and advertising cookies through our cookie consent banner, or by turning off personalized ads in Google’s Ads Settings. If you have already accepted, you can change your preferences at any time by clicking the “Manage Consent” link in our website footer.
You will not be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights.
6. Data Retention and Security
We retain data only for as long as necessary. Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months. Server and security logs are typically retained for 30 days. We secure our website using HTTPS encryption, a Web Application Firewall (WAF), and standard security practices.
7. Reader Challenges
You can challenge any paragraph of an article that you think is wrong, outdated or unclear. When you send a challenge, we store your message, the text you challenged and, if you give one, the name you want to be thanked by. To check your challenge, your message and the article are sent to AI models through OpenRouter (openrouter.ai), and web pages you link to may be retrieved. If your challenge leads to a correction, the correction is listed under the article, with your name if you gave one.
We do not store your IP address. To limit the number of challenges per person and day, we keep a keyed one-way hash of it (for IPv6 addresses, of their network) and delete it after 7 days.
The challenge form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which processes information about your browser and device to tell people from automated programs; see the Turnstile Privacy Addendum.
Challenges are kept as the record of how our articles were reviewed. You can ask us to erase your message and name at any time.
8. Advertising
roboticsmeta.com uses Google AdSense to show advertising. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to our users based on their visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google’s Ads Settings, and out of other vendors’ cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info or, in Europe, www.youronlinechoices.eu. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Google uses advertising cookies only if you accept them in our cookie banner; you can change your choice at any time in the consent settings of our Cookie Policy (EU).
